In conjunction with Taylor’s Education Group ESG Festival 6.0: Food for Thought, Taylor’s Residence was proud to participate by hosting a booth showcasing two of our flagship student-led service learning and sustainability initiatives — LaunchPad and REGrow.
A highlight of the booth was LaunchPad, our award-winning service learning programme that champions the fight against menstrual poverty. Since its inception in 2019, LaunchPad has empowered students to educate underserved women on menstrual hygiene while teaching them to produce reusable sanitary pads. What began as an initiative supporting refugee women in Malaysia has since expanded to indigenous communities, including Kampung Serendah, Selangor.
The impact of LaunchPad has been recognised internationally, earning recognition at the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia and most recently contributing to Taylor’s Residence winning the 2025 APSAA Excellence in Student Experience Award.
Also featured was REGrow, a sustainability initiative that transforms food waste into fertiliser through the use of Black Soldier Fly larvae and natural composting methods. By turning waste into a valuable resource, REGrow promotes a circular approach to food waste management while creating awareness on sustainable living practices.
The initiative was also recognised as part of Taylor’s Residence's achievement in winning the 2026 APSAA Excellence in Sustainable Development Goals Award, reflecting our commitment to creating meaningful environmental and social impact.
Led by our student committee members, the booth aimed to educate and inspire fellow Taylorians on how small actions can create lasting change for both communities and the environment.
We are incredibly proud of our residents who continue to drive these initiatives with passion, purpose, and dedication. Their efforts embody what it means to be a Taylorian — caring for people, communities, and the future of our planet.
Together, we are proving that student living can be a powerful platform for positive change.
