A safer residential community begins with preparation, awareness, and knowing what to do when it matters most.

As part of Taylor’s Residence’s ongoing commitment to emergency preparedness, our Student Fire Marshals took part in a dedicated briefing to strengthen their understanding of emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and their roles and responsibilities during an emergency.

Student Fire Marshals are resident volunteers who support the Residence team by helping to guide and assist fellow residents during evacuations. The briefing equipped them with the knowledge and confidence needed to respond calmly and effectively while supporting the safety of the wider residential community.

Working alongside our Emergency Response Management Team (ERMT), Student Fire Marshals also play an important role in encouraging greater safety awareness among their peers and fostering a community where residents look out for one another.

Emergency readiness is not something that can be built in the moment. Through regular briefings, training, and familiarisation, we continue to strengthen our collective preparedness and create a safer living environment for everyone at Taylor’s Residence.
