LaunchPad Expands Community Impact Through Medical Check-Up and Health Awareness

Hulu Selangor, 5 July 2026 – LaunchPad marked another meaningful milestone in its community engagement journey through the successful organisation of a Medical Check-Up and Health Awareness Programme for the Orang Asli community in Kampung Serendah.

The programme was led by Dr Aqeela and supported by volunteers from Taylor's School of Medicine, bringing together healthcare professionals, students, and community members in a collaborative effort to promote preventive healthcare and wellbeing.

The day began with a health awareness session that provided practical information on common health concerns, healthy lifestyle habits, and the importance of regular health screenings. Following the talk, community members were invited to participate in complimentary medical check-ups conducted by the healthcare team.

It was encouraging to see strong community participation, with mothers and teenagers stepping forward to undergo health screenings and actively engaging in discussions about their well-being. The positive response reflected a growing awareness of the importance of preventive healthcare and the value of accessible health services within the community.

Beyond providing health screenings, the programme created an opportunity for meaningful conversations about health literacy, empowering community members with the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about their well-being.

This initiative represents another important step in LaunchPad's commitment to supporting underserved communities through sustainable and holistic interventions. While LaunchPad began with a focus on menstrual health and access to reusable pads, the programme continues to evolve to address broader community needs, including health education and access to basic healthcare services.

LaunchPad extends its appreciation to Dr Aqeela, Taylor's School of Medicine, and all volunteers who contributed their time and expertise to make this initiative possible. Together, these efforts continue to create a lasting impact and strengthen the well-being of the Orang Asli community.
